Claire and Ollie’s south of France wedding was the kind of wedding many couples lust after; relaxed, sunny, lots of food and wine and lots of special touches.
Claire moved to the UK from South Africa, met Ollie working at Deloitte (along with Joey and I!!) and the two of them bonded over beer and live music. After an international courtship from London to the Democratic Republic of Congo, they got engaged high up in a beautiful hot air balloon in Kenya. The stuff dreams are made of!
Ollie’s mum lives in a gorgeous house with vast fields and space, in a sleepy village in the south of France, so it was the perfect location to bring family and friends from the UK and South Africa to celebrate their wedding. It was so incredible for Joey and I to be a part of our dear friends’ special day in this way, and we feel so privileged to have been asked to photograph their wedding.
Lovingly home-grown flowers, scrabble place settings and very cool photographs of all the guests spun an incredibly personal touch on this wedding, and it was so beautiful to see the closeness of both families and all of their friends. Adding in some glorious sunshine, a bright yellow vintage Citreon and gin and tonic cocktails, and this wedding was an absolute corker!
We had the most brilliant weekend with these guys, not to mention a wonderful drive from London to the south of France – any excuse for some chilled vino, sunshine and open roads. Claire and Ollie: over the years we’ve loved gigging with you, hanging with you and laughing with you – and we couldn’t be happier to have been a part of your incredible and perfect wedding day. x
