The day began, for me, at their bright flat in Balham, and for Joey at the Balham Lodge just around the corner. Prosecco and rasperries (and pizza!) for the girls, whiskey and beers for the boys, and all were set for the magnificent day ahead. Anyone who knows Megan will know that she adores the vintage era, particularly the ’40s, so it would have been no surprise to the guests to have been asked to take part in adding a touch of their interpretation of ‘vintage’ to their outfits for the day. Hair and makeup for the girls was particularly impressive, combining vintage and glamour beautifully for this very special occasion.
Guests were invited to meet at Balham Bowls Club for a little drink before all hopping on a traditional London routemaster to be taken in style to Wandsworth Town Hall. Following their sweet ceremony, watched lovingly by friends and family from as far away as New Zealand, everyone merrily piled back on to the bus to return to the Bowls Club for a vintage tea party followed by lovely speeches and a delicious meal. I don’t want to say too much about the tea party, but in the film I hope you’ll see just how divine this idea turned out to be!
Later, we all went upstairs for some cake cutting, more drinks and a packed dancefloor serenaded by the awesome band Les Belles, and the party really kicked off! Having been wonderfully looked after by Megan, Rich and their family and friends, we slinked off into the night leaving the sparkling birdcages and nifty dance moves to continue!
With many, many thanks to Rich and Megan – huge congratulations to you both and all our best wishes for a wonderful married life together. We hope you enjoy your film!
“The fact that everyone (including us) had a tear in their eye when they watched this is testament in itself- you captured our day beautifully. There isn’t anything we could have asked for more of. You completely nailed it and we can’t thank you enough.”
