How would you describe your style?
We do our best to reflect what we see with our own eyes, and what we feel through our own experiences and that of the guests at your wedding. We want to capture your day in a way that will allow you to reminisce about the little things; we want one image to tell you more than one story; we want to challenge ourselves to understand you and recreate your spirit. Take a look through our blog to get a feel for our style.
What if we hate having our photo taken?
You’re not alone – 99% of our couples hate having their photograph taken! We set aside time for photos with the two of you – usually after the ceremony – but the main purpose of this is actually so that you get a few quiet minutes together just after you’ve got married. You’ll never get this time back! We take some relaxed photos in the background of you happily catching up together and having a laugh, with a bit of gentle direction here or there, so it’s not as scary as you might think.
Do you think we should have formal family photos?
Absolutely; in general at your wedding we’ll be shooting in a natural, free-flowing style but when it comes to family pictures, we can guide you on getting the balance between having the photos you’d like in the time that we have available on the day. We discuss this in detail before the day, and encourage at least a couple of key family photographs for your long-term keepsakes.
Where are you based, and how far are you willing to travel?
Joey and I are based in Tooting in London, and are happy to travel as far as we are invited to go! Whether it’s a UK coastal road trip for us or a weekend in Italy or Africa, we are always up for a new adventure! We quote separately for destination weddings and can give you an even better price if we can make a holiday out of it! (Any excuse..)
How many hours will you spend?
We want to make sure we have all the best parts of your day covered, from getting ready with the girls and boys to your guests dancing the night away. Some of the most ticklish moments happen during these spectrums of the wedding and we wouldn’t want to miss them, so we include up to 10 hours’ coverage in our most popular collections. We can adapt for smaller weddings or longer days so just get in touch with your requirements.
Do you provide albums?
Of course; you’ll have your images as digital files but nothing beats opening a beautiful book and seeing your wedding photographs in print. We use the best album maker in the world (we think, anyway) – Queensberry. We stand by the quality and durability of their albums and love their contemporary yet timeless look and feel, not to mention being able to personalise your album down to the touch of your cover.
Can we meet you before the day?
Of course, and we place great importance on meeting our couples before the wedding day. The pre-wedding photo shoot is the perfect way for us to get to know each other, but we also like to meet up initially to understand more about what your priorities are; what you are apprehensive about; what gets you brimming with excitement. The more we know about what makes you tick, the more our photos will reflect who you are.
Why should we hire a professional and not just ask our friend to take photos for free?
Will your friend be drunk by the end of the canapes? We won’t be, so you’ll get consistent photos from your speeches and party!
In all seriousness, the taking of the photo is just a small part of what we do. We know how a wedding works and where to be – those candid photos aren’t pure luck; we watch, we wait. From discussing your plans through to holding your wedding album, your experience is much more than just the wedding day itself.
