Well here’s a pretty lush wedding to share with you today!!  Gemma and Daniel met while working in Melbourne as accountants (high fives!… from Joey!), and relocated together to London which they’ve now made home.

Getting married overseas (for them as Aussies!) was always a top priority and, having so many favourite locations in our capital, London was the natural choice.  Their close family and besties made the trip over from down-under to share the big day with them… and what a day it was!!

Their stylish wedding moved seamlessly from a sweet, intimate ceremony in Islington Town Hall to drinks for the guests at The Trafalgar St James, while the bridal party enjoyed espresso martinis at Pennethorne’s Bar, before all joining together for a cosy dinner in the Salon, the private dining space at Spring, Somerset House.

Congrats to the new Mr and Mrs Harrison, sunning it up in Mykonos on their buddymoon!!  Enjoy a sneak preview of a few of their photos below, with lots more to come and a cheeky film as well…

There’s something pretty cool about London weddings; that feeling of urban chaos that weaves through the city.  We’ve shot loads of Islington Town Hall weddings, and it was a pleasure to be asked back for a wintery wedding (you’d never believe this was February…).

Our lovely couple have requested privacy for their photos, which is totally cool by us; though they’ve very kindly agreed to sharing some detail photos from their wedding, to give you a feel for both our wedding photography and an Islington Town Hall wedding!

The bride got ready for her wedding at the Rosewood London, which we adore!!  There are so many cool spaces within the hotel itself, but my personal favourite feature is the building architecture itself.  I’m a bit of a sucker for that light, bright, uniform stone which reflects the light beautifully.  Coupled with the copper doorways and hall, the entrance of the hotel is a dream!  It’s a battle for the top spot with the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, but that’s a post for another day!!

So, back to this lovely London wedding!  The wedding ceremony took place in the Council Chamber at the Islington Town Hall; a stunning circular space with great architecture, that really lends itself to an intimate-feeling ceremony, even though it has a reasonably large capacity.  This is because of the way the room is laid out; you can get a good view from pretty much any of the seats!  There’s also a little balcony which you can hire out separately for more guests.

The wedding party then proceeded to The Albion pub just a 10 minute walk away, for a glorious knees-up!  We’ll save a few photos of the decor and styling our couple went with for part 2, which you can take a peek at in this post.

I hope this gives you some food for thought for your London wedding, we adore shooting them so get in touch if you’d like to chat more about your plans!

I first met Chloe and Alex when I photographed Chloe’s mum’s wedding last year – so it was an absolute pleasure to see Rene and Eric, and all the family, again for Chloe and Alex’s big day in London!

These two wanted a super relaxed, fun, quirky wedding and I’m sure you’ll agree that they’ve pulled it off in spades; from Chloe’s stunning couture dress (loved the way she confused the guy at Islington Town Hall, rocking up in this beautiful purple dress and killer leather jacket!) to the handmade origami cranes lovingly made by Rene, and their two cats represented on their Dr. Who wedding cake.

The ceremony at Islington Town Hall was happy and intimate, with just close friends and family, followed by a raucous lunch at The Doll’s House and afterparty with another 100 guests at Metalworks in Islington.  Daleks and Jesus to follow in a subsequent post, but for now enjoy this little taster of their day – and congratulations Chloe and Alex!

Sarah and Dom chose Hackney Town Hall for their wedding ceremony, as it’s local to them being just a few minutes up the road from their flat!  Hackney Town Hall is a beautiful art deco building set back from the road, and its grand steps make for lovely photos just after the ceremony when happy buzz and excitement is in the air!   We absolutely love shooting the natural joy that’s effervescent at a wedding, and Sarah and Dom’s wedding had happiness in spades.

As Sarah and Dom had met at school in Hong Kong (that’s right, childhood sweethearts!) many of their friends have international backgrounds so flew over to London for their wedding from all over the world.  As such, it was just that extra bit special for Sarah and Dom to be able to have all their friends and family together in one place.

After the marriage vows were declared and confetti thrown on the steps of the Town Hall, guests were given Camden Hells beers and G&Ts to lighten their journey on the big red London bus up the road to Stoke Newington.  A quick pit stop for some pimms and beers at the nearby Rose and Crown was followed by a sunny and relaxed drinks reception (aperol spritz featured – one of Sarah’s faves) at Clissold House, a delicious feast by The Gatherers and dessert table spread by the Baking Boy.  Then Dom’s brother Jonathan hit the decks to serenade the party!  All in all, a brilliant wedding day for an absolutely delightful couple!

Joey and I also shot a wedding film for Sarah and Dom, which you can watch here:

A few words from the utterly lovely bride, Sarah: “We cannot stress how in love we are with the photos. You both did the most wonderful job and we are thrilled to bits with the results.”

If you’d like to chat with us about your wedding photos and a sweet film, drop us a note at info@photographybykrishanthi.co.uk – we look forward to hearing from you!

Sarah and Dom were childhood sweethearts growing up in Hong Kong, and have been together ever since – how beautiful is that!  When you meet them both you can see why it all just works; they are both utterly lovely and relaxed individuals, and comfortable, happy and totally in love with each other!  Sarah and Dom live in vibrant Hackney, so chose their local Hackney Town Hall for the wedding ceremony.  A brilliant choice, as Hackney Town Hall is a really cool building with its art deco interior, big windows and impressive stone facade.

After their ceremony at the Town Hall, guests were taken on a jolly big red bus ride (complete with beers and gin and tonics – inspired!) through to Stoke Newington’s Rose & Crown pub for some pimms and mingling.  The final stop was the glorious Clissold House – one of our favourite wedding venues in London!  We were thrilled to be back here with such a great couple and their guests.  So many people had come from all over the globe for these two; there was so much happiness and excitement in the air.  It was truly joyful, and Joey and I loved being a part of it all!

We have a film to come (exciting!) but for now here’s a little taster of Sarah and Dom’s informal, international Clissold House wedding – hope you like it!  Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Thank you Sarah & Dom for an incredibly fun and relaxed wedding!  Hope Santorini is good to you x

These two, these two…so.much.fun.  What a brilliant way to spend a Tuesday morning!  In the bright London sunshine, seeing Heather and Laurence get married in front of their nearest and dearest at the lovely art deco venue, Islington Town Hall.  Followed by champagne at – of course – St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel.  Before setting off on the Eurostar to Paris.  Do weddings get any cooler??!
Here’s a little introduction to these two wonderful characters – hope you enjoy!

Alex and Lucy (brains and beauty behind Quill London, by the way).

This beautiful London wedding began at the very cool Rosewood Hotel in central London.  It was so lovely to see all the bridesmaids and Lucy’s parents, aunt and nan all visit the suite at the Rosewood during the morning’s preparations!  Alex got ready at home – a stunning property that he and Lucy bought together in Brockley last year – along with his best men.  Their wedding ceremony was at St James’ Church in Clerkenwell (one of the loveliest London churches we have photographed in); after the ceremony, guests came out into the church gardens for homemade cocktails and lardy donuts and the most awesome brass band lifting everyone’s spirits to the sunny skies.

One of the highlights of the day was a relaxed stroll through Clerkenwell for a little stop at one of Lucy’s favourite haunts, The Modern Pantry.  Except this time, she was wearing her Osman wedding dress and Charlotte Olympia shoes, which naturally invited many smiles from passersby.  After a little breather, merry on cocktails and happy bellies full of donuts, guests headed to the reception in Islington; a gorgeous little pub in the pretty Barnsbury area called The Albion.  Blush pink and pastel flower arrangements were lovingly – and skilfully – created by the sister of the bride, Jen, and here the feasting continued.  With the weather still calm, relaxed speeches followed in the pub’s pretty gardens, and espresso martinis got the party going into the night.

Al and Lucy: it was a true pleasure of ours to be a part of your wedding – many congratulations!
